The Strategic Schools Program is a two-year initiative, developed by Teach for Romania with founding from Tiriac International Foundation aiming to drive the sustainable transformation of schools from Sacele and Crizbav enrolled in the program.

The program is implemented over 2025-2027 school years for minimum 500 children and 31 teachers.

Strategic Schools Program impact is reflected at all levels — students, teachers, and leadership teams:

Leadership for school principals:
  • Over 400 hours of training, mentoring, and coaching tailored to the complex role of school leadership.
  • Access to a learning community, study visits to model schools, and exposure to best practices.
  • Personalized consultancy for attracting and efficiently managing resources (e.g., PNRAS funds).
Teacher training and mentoring:
  • Preparing a critical mass of teachers (minimum 30% of the teaching staff) to create a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
  • Focus on developing students’ key competencies: literacy, numeracy, financial education, socio-emotional and environmental skills, and career counseling.
  • Student leadership programs and mini-grants for impactful initiatives.
Organizational culture and systemic change:
  • Transforming the school into a learning and development hub for the community.
  • Shifting from an individualistic organizational culture to a collaborative teaching staff, aligned with learning objectives.
  • Building a shared vision through consultations with teachers, students, parents, and local authorities.
Resources and infrastructure:
  • Access to educational kits (literacy, numeracy, SEL, environment).
  • Funds for projects that support students and the community: extracurricular activities, parental education, basic infrastructure.
