With our support, the Țiriac Foundation has joined Habitat for Humanity Romania’s efforts to support families affected by the severe floods that hit Suceava County in July 2025. Through this partnership, Habitat for Humanity Romania will be able to intervene directly in the community of Broșteni—one of the hardest-hit localities—to rebuild safe, durable homes for vulnerable families.
Following the torrential rains of July 27–28, more than 800 houses in the area were affected, 40 of which were completely destroyed. The community of Broșteni suffered significant damage, with many families left without shelter or living in unsafe conditions.
With the support of the Țiriac Foundation, Habitat for Humanity Romania will carry out a comprehensive reconstruction intervention in Broșteni, which includes:
- Repairs and rehabilitation for 18 homes severely affected by the floods;
- The complete reconstruction of a new, safe, and energy-efficient home;
- Three “Build Back Better” interventions, through which homes will be strengthened and adapted to local risks, becoming models of resilience and sustainability for the community.
In total, 22 homes will benefit from the contribution of the Țiriac Foundation, valued at over USD 495,000.
Fundația Țiriac formally donated €1,000,000 to support relief and reconstruction after the February 2023 earthquakes in Turkey. The grant was officially signed on April 10, 2023 in Bucharest in the presence of Mr. Ion Țiriac and Turkey’s ambassador, with the foundation noting the aid was dedicated to affected communities.
During the pandemic, Țiriac International Foundation through Fundația Țiriac backed medical needs with a total of €924.000 allocation, including a €100,000 pledge for ventilators through the national “Români Împreună” telethon, alongside broader public statements of support for hospital equipment and supplies.
In January 2020, Fundația Țiriac launched the #AustralianOpenHeart campaign to support victims of the Australian wildfires, announcing a donation of 100,000 AUD and inviting other public contributions.
Beyond Romania, Țiriac International Foundation-backed philanthropy has extended to European social and medical causes. Germany’s Aktion Kinderträume e.V. acknowledged a donation from Fundația Țiriac to support children’s welfare initiatives.
